Give Ear

Psa 78:1 Give ear......to my law; incline your ear to the words...

Evidently what the Holy Spirit was going to inspire the writer to write was going to be very important because He said, listen...give ear; listen...incline your ear... He wanted our attention! Bend your ear so you can hear.

So many times we causally listen but do not hear what someone is saying. They did not get our undivided attention and it caused us to not get the message. That is so sad. When God is speaking to us, through reading the Word, a sermon, or a messager He has sent to us, listen. So heed what the writer is saying.

Today take this thought with you. God might be sending you a message and you need to be able to stop and listen. Remember the old tv ad, “When E.F. Hutton speaks, everybody listens.” When God is speaking are you going to be listening? He used a still small voice to speak to Elijah. Elijah might have missed it had not God gotten his attention and placed him in a place so he could hear, I Kings 19.

The song writer E.W. Blandy wrote: “I can hear my saviour calling, I can hear my saviour calling, I can hear my saviour calling, ‘take thy cross and follow, follow me”. Could you hear Him today.? If through whatever means God wanted to use to speak to you, would you be listening?

Give ear...Incline your ear to the words, God might be instructing you and wants your undivided attention.
